Boutique Guesthouse
In the heart of Pizarra, Malaga.
Welcome to
Casa Doña Inés
A peaceful retreat with a story to tell.
In 1873, a Cuban doctor combined two village houses into one, creating this 150-year-old Andalusian home that carries the stories of its past within every stone. Legend has it that a young Pablo Picasso, born in Málaga in 1881 and often unwell as a child, may have visited the doctor here in Pizarra for treatment.
The house later passed to the well-known Doña Inés, a strong and influential figure in the region, whose name the home still carries.
The house was bought and lovingly restored, 23 years ago, by Hans and Marlene, now an elderly retired couple who still live on the property together with their carer and son Robin.
Today, together with his girlfriend Michelle, Robin and Michelle have now opened its doors to tourists and travellers alike, having turned the historic townhouse into a small and caring boutique guesthouse, carrying on the family’s tradition of warm hospitality.
Surrounded by a peaceful patio, the cozy, private space is located just 30 minutes from Málaga and the famous Caminito del Rey. Enjoy mountain views from the rooftop terrace — perfect for morning coffee or a sunset glass of wine. And with Granada, Córdoba, and Seville just a couple of hours away, it's a wonderful base for exploring Andalusia.
The Back House
Welcome to the Back house of Casa Doña Ines. These converter stables have now become a comfortable get away in a typical Andalusian town house. Located at the back end of the patio, you will enjoy your own private part of the patio, as well as your own living room with kitchenette, bedroom with private bathroom, toilet and rooftop terrace with stunning views over de Valle de Guadalhorce.

The Communal Areas
Besides your own little house, you are more than welcome to use the communal spaces in the house. You can make use of the full patio, the central kitchen and dining room. There is also a small shed on the patio with a washing machine, which you are also welcome to use. All we ask if that you always leave the spaces as you have found them.We also have two lovely and curious house cats who love a cuddle. However, they are not used to leaving the house and therefore we kindly ask our guests to always leave the metal gate at the entrance closed as well as the door leading to the balcony, as these are the only two ways for them to leave. Also, because of these two little friends, we unfortunately can not accept any others pets. We thank you for this in advance.
Pizarra
Nestled in the heart of the Guadalhorce Valley, Pizarra is a peaceful Andalusian village where time slows down and life flows to the rhythm of the sun. Away from the touristy coast, it remains authentically Spanish — a place where neighbours greet you in the street, tapas bars spill laughter onto the plaza, and the church bells mark the passing of tranquil days. People here live simply and warmly, grounded in tradition and hospitality.
Just above the village rises El Santo, a scenic hike to a stone statue of Christ overlooking the valley — a beloved local walk with stunning panoramic views, especially at sunset. Pizarra’s charm lies in these everyday moments of quiet beauty. And yet, it’s incredibly well connected: only 30 minutes by train from Málaga, offering the perfect balance of peaceful village life and easy access to the coast and the city.
Andalucia
From the charming village of Pizarra, the heart of Andalucía opens up with its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. This land was once part of Al-Andalus, a flourishing Muslim territory between the 8th and 15th centuries, where art, science, and architecture thrived. The echoes of this golden era can still be felt today in the ornate Alhambra in Granada, the majestic Mezquita in Córdoba, and the beautiful Alcázar of Sevilla.Andalucía is also a land of contrasts: sunlit coasts, rugged mountains, rolling olive groves, and deep river valleys. From Pizarra, you can easily reach Marbella’s beaches, the dramatic cliffs of Ronda, or the historic streets of Córdoba, Granada, and Sevilla. Nature lovers will delight in the region’s national parks, hiking trails, and cycling routes, including the world-famous El Caminito del Rey which is located at a 30 minutes drive from Pizarra .Andalucía is alive with tradition. Tapas bars, flamenco rhythms, lively festivals, and local markets allow you to taste, hear, and feel the culture that has shaped this land for centuries. It’s a place where every journey — whether through history, nature, or cuisine — tells a story and invites you to be part of it.
